Anne Hultzsch
Curriculum vitae
Anne Hultzsch joined the gta in 2021. Previously, she has held positions at the Bartlett School of Architecture (UCL), University of Greenwich, New York University London, as well as Queen Mary University of London. She was a postdoctoral fellow at AHO, Oslo, in the project The Printed and the Built (2014-18), and holds a PhD and MSc in Architectural History from the Bartlett, UCL (2011, 2006) as well as a diploma in architecture from TU Munich (2003). In 2021, she received the habilitation at ETH Zurich with the project ‘Architecture in the Public Eye: Buildings, Words, and Images in Britain, 1800-1950’.
Her research focuses on 18th and 19th century architectural print cultures, the history of perception, travel, and the role of women in architecture before 1900. In support of this, she has held fellowships and received grants from the European Research Council, the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art, the Norwegian Research Council, the Royal Institute of Architects, the Society of Architectural Historians Great Britain, the Getty Research Institute, the Canadian Centre for Architecture as well as the Arts and Humanities Research Council (UK).
Anne Hultzsch is a member of the Editorial Board of gta Papers and was an editor of Architectural Histories, the EAHN Journal from 2017 to 2021). Since 2018, she has been the Communications Officer of the EAHN and co-convenes its interest group Building Word Image.
